Commentary

RTC 215 = AGGT 052  = (???)

Various persons received relatively large quantities of valuable aromatized oils from the manager of the palace’s storerooms, Šara-isa. Therefore, Ur-abba (o. 3), the recipient of an exceptional disbursement of aromatized oils, almond oil and butter, may well have been the same as the city-ruler Ur-abba, who reigned at Girsu during the time of Urnamma of Ur (???). The dirge singer from Inana’s sanctuary of Zabalam (r. 5), situated in the neighbouring province/state of Umma, may have received the oil in recognition of a performance – but this remains speculative.

r.2: The name is otherwise unknown in Lagash II texts, AGGT 446 = MVN 7 131 r.3 „a-ba-a“ is misread for „ab-ba-a“ (see BDTNS 021206)

r.3: Ludiĝira acts as commissioner in four documents of Šara-isa’s expenditures; see (???).
