SCTRAH 096
The edition basically follows the one given by Molina 2014.
o.1: 1 jar (dug) has a capacity of 30 litres in Adab (Molina 2014: 107).
r.1–3: The verb šum2 „to give“ makes clear that the two objects, the vessel of sesame oil and the garment, were handed over, and not the silver, since in that case the verb should be la2 „to weigh“. According to the standard word order in Sargonic documents, the noun before the verb e-na-šum2 „it was given to him“ represents the recipient. In Middle Sargonic documents from Adab, e-na-šum2 is the written form for both the transitive and the intransivite form (corresponding to earlier i3-na-šum2, i-nna-n-šum-ø, and an-na-šum2, a-nna-šum-ø, respectively); see for example for the transitive construction: PN1-e PN2-ra e-na-šum2 CUSAS 20 286 r.3; for the intransitive construction: (dates filled in baskets) PN-ra GN-še3 e-na-šum2 SCTRAH 042 o.3-r.1. Alternatively lines r. 1–3 can thus be translated as follows:
„The scribe Muni gave it (the goods) to Lugalitida.“
