The term for sesame cultivators in Ĝirsu in the Ur III period is usually “men of sesame” lu2 ĝeš i3. Only rarely one find other terms for sesame cultivators in Ĝirsu, e.g. “ploughmen of sesame” (engar ĝeš-i3[glossary=engar ĝeš-i3]); for the variation še-ĝeš-i3 ~ ĝeš-i3 see Waetzoldt 1985: 79. The variant lu2 še-ĝeš-i3 is once attested in Irisaĝrig (Nisaba 15/2 0528).
