Commentary

Observe 6) Kasapa was one of the most important cities of the Kurda kingdom. It was strategically located at the pass allowing the crossing of the Jebel Sindjar between the latter and the Jebel Djeribe; see Ziegler/Langlois 2016: 183.

Like in other letters from Princess Iltani’s archive, donkeys have an essential role in transport, including sesame and oil; see Dossier A.1.1.19.
