Commentary

This text comes from Susa, but does not belong to the Igibuni household (for this archive see De Graef 2005 and the archive Ur III Susa). Due to the seal with the dedication to Ibbi-Suen, as well as the mention of Tan-Ruḫuater, this document is to be dated either to the period IS.09-IS.14, in which Ibbi-Suen attempted to recapture the city of Susa after the short reign of Ebarat I. Alternatively, it could date to the period in which Tan-Ruḫuater retook power over Susa at the end of Ibbi-Suen’s reign and later, see De Graef 2008: 80 - 81 and De Graef 2015: 296 for further details on this period and the date of this text.

o. 2-3 Since this amount of sesame is recorded for month II/May, it could have been sesame for sowing.
