Commentary
o. 2 The Aĝeštin field of Umma covered at least 500 iku (= 180 ha) in size; it bordered the Lugala field and these two fields were irrigated together (Pettinato 1967a: no. 40: not to be confused with the Aĝeštin field in Lagaš, no. 39; Pettinato 1967b: 60-61).
o. 3 Ur-Sulpae [individual=Ur-Sulpae] was a key person in the management of sesame in Umma. He was scribe (dub-sar) and son of Lugalkugani (dumu lugal-ku3-ga-ni) who, partially within the „control bureau“ (nam-ša3-tam), was managing the workforce deployed in the milling of sesame oil and managed expenditures and deliveries of various oils and fats on behalf of the provincial administration (Šu.42/Šu.44 until ŠS.09).
