Commentary

This text documents that sesame plants were entirely uprooted (bu3-r[glossary=bu3-r] “to tear out, to uproot”) for harvest. For the question of the terms for harvesting of sesame and the question of sesame vs. flax see Dossier A.1.1.4.

This attestation also documents that sesame farmers could and did fulfill their obligations to the central administration with a payment in silver as well, i.e. they had access to this means of payment (see also Dossier A.1.1.4 § 4).
