Commentary

o. 3 The text features first barley in month XII/March of Šu-Suen 9 and then sesame in the month Kurganaše of Ibbi-Suen 1, a month name not otherwise attested. But following month XII/March of Šu-Suen 9, the month Kurganaše may refer to the first month of Ibbi-Suen 1 (see Widell 2003: 131). This fits very well with the fact that the 3,000 litres of sesame seeds were destined for sowing (nuĝun), considering that the regular planting season of sesame took place from month I/April to month III/June (on the sowing season of sesame see Dossier A.1.1.10).

r. 2 Ḫunnu occurs likewise as „responsible official“ (ĝiri3[glossary=ĝiri3]) and, with Urniĝar, as overseer in JCS 19 28 3 case o. 4 (IS.01.00.00). The same Ḫunnu received sesame oil (i3-ĝeš[glossary=i3-ĝeš]) from Urniĝar under the instruction (enim) of Guzana (SAT 3 1902 o. 3, ŠS.09.12.00).
