Commentary

o. 3-4, r. 4 This text is dated in month VI/September, i.e., at the beginning of the harvesting period of the sesame plants. One month later 45 men („36 men, 9 half-time (men)“ 36 ĝuruš, 9 a2 ½) from „various shrines“ (eš didli-me) were „stationed on the sesame plot“ (ki ĝeš-i3-ka [glossary=ki ĝeš-i3] gub-ba) of the same Ḫubeĝarra field for 5 days (TCTI 2 03432, AS.08.07.00). Lugula sealed the receipt (kišeb3) in both documents. Very likely both texts document the deployment of the workforce for the harvesting of sesame plants.

r. 3 The same Baddari himself functioned as „overseer“ (ugula) for the expenditure of 200 litres of barley from the Ĝanunmaḫ (ĝa2-nun-maḫ-ta), taken over as „maintenance for the personnel on standby (for) sesame“ (ša3-gal dumu dab5-ba erin2 bala tuš-a / ĝeš-i3[glossary=še-ĝeš-i3]) in the same month VI/September of Amar-Suena 8 (TCTI 2 03451, AS.08.06.00; see also Maekawa 1987a: 91 - 93).
